Working from parts of an original medallion, Jack was able to repair it, replicate it into a complete medallion, and then reproduce a second matching medallion for another room in this home.

Gunk Haus Restaurant - Clintondale, NY

“Our goal for Gunk Haus was to create a German restaurant with an authentic feeling of old world charm. Jack was instrumental in achieving this effect. He plastered the walls with a mix of finishing plaster and real lime tinted with yellow earth pigments to create an aged appearance. He finished the plaster to give it the velvety sheen we were look- ing for. Whenever we call on Jack to fix plaster damaged from the daily abuse of an active restaurant, he blends the patches seamlessly and unnoticeable into the existing plaster.”

“The plaster ceiling and ornate cornices in our 1875 Victorian home fell when a tree hit the house. In the extensive damage the underlying lath was exposed. Finished results look exactly like the original, including the custom molded cornices with acanthus leaves, egg and tongue, and bead and reel. Jack’s work is excellent. ”
